Rules and Regulations - Garmenting room

MAIN MENU

2-    Garmenting room

A mistake often encountered is the assumption that the garmenting area is not part of the cleanroom. This area leading into the cleanroom should be at least as clean as the cleanroom itself.
Before putting on shoe covers in the cleanroom entrance, KAIN cleanroom users should minimize contaminate carry-over, particularly along the floor, by walking on cleanroom mats (sticky mats) which pick up gross contaminants from the shoe soles. This area “Cleanroom entrance” is the transition point from the “dirty” to “clean”.
When entering the garmenting room, check that the air handling system is in operation. You should feel the flow of air hitting your face when you open the door. If in doubt, please contact Cleanroom Management Team.
Cleanroom Garments should be used in the following sequence:
     a.    Walk on Sticky Mat in the entrance room
     b.    Put on shoe cover
     c.    Enter the garmenting room
               c.1. Wear cleanroom gloves
c.2. Put on coverall (cleanroom suit)
c.3. Put on head/hair cover (cleanroom cap/bouffant), assure all hair is entrained under bouffant.
               c.4. Wear a face mask.
In case, a cleanroom user needs only to hand on items to another user already inside the cleanroom, the former should put on shoe cover in the cleanroom entrance and use a pass thru box in the garmenting area. However, steps a-c should strictly be followed even in case to only bringing items inside the cleanroom.
Guests should be discouraged from the cleanroom environment however, if necessary, they must exercise the same procedures as any experienced worker.
