KAIN receives a delegation of female students from Faculty of Science at Shaqra University
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) received, on Thursday October 22nd, 2015, a delegation of female students from the Department of Chemistry in the College of Science and Humanities at Shaqra University, headed by Prof. Inas Mustafa Bakr, a faculty professor of Chemistry Department, and Ms. Hohoud Alrageh, accompanied by Director of Women's Administration Section of KAIN, Ms.  Afaf Alrokayan.
The visit comes in the framework of activating cooperation between universities in the Kingdom and the dissemination of scientific awareness and encouragement of students to research, especially in the field of nanotechnology.
The students listened to a brief introduction about KAIN and its activities, followed by a tour in KAIN laboratories, where they were introduced to advanced equipment in different fields of nanotechnology.
Dr. Aws Alshamsan, dean of KAIN, revealed that KAIN is stepping consecutive steps to activate communication with the relevant authorities within and outside KSU, where KAIN has recently activated a number of communication channels, which supports the achievement of its objectives and the tasks entrusted to it.
The visitors expressed their appreciation for the visit program, and for the publicized KAIN achievements.

KAIN participates in the Exhibition of the 2nd Saudi International Conference on Scientific Publishing 2015
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) participated in the Exhibition of the Second Saudi International Conference on Scientific Publishing 2015, which was held under the patronage of his Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - Governor of Riyadh, and which was opened by the Rector of KSU, Prof. Badran Alomar on Sunday, October 11, 2015, in the Main Hall at King Saud University.
KAIN activities were presented by various models, leaflets and presentations showing the activities and areas of nanotechnology running in KAIN.
Dr. Aws Alshamsan, Dean of KAIN, explained that the participation of KAIN goes in harmony with the goals of the Strategic Plan of KSU and KAIN, which aims at building communication bridges towards a sustainable future where dissemination of scientific awareness about nanoscience and nanotechnologies is achieved.
Visitors expressed appreciation towards KAIN and its achievements.

تعيين الدكتور علي بن كناخر الدلبحي وكيلاً لمعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو للشئون البحثية
صدرت الموافقة على تعيين سعادة الدكتور علي بن كناخر الدلبحي الأستاذ المساعد بقسم الكيمياء بكلية العلوم وكيلاً لمعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو للشئون البحثية، اعتباراً من يوم الثلاثاء 15 شعبان 1436هـ الموافق 2 يونيو 2015م، وبهذه المناسبة تتقدم إدارة المعهد ومنسوبوه بأسمى التهاني والتبريكات لسعادة الدكتور علي الدلبحي على توليه هذا المنصب سائلين الله سبحانه وتعالى له العون والتوفيق في أداء مهامه.

تمت مناقشة رسالة ماجستير طالب الدراسات العليا محمد السبيعي بقسم الفيزياء والفلك بكلية العلوم بالجامعة في يوم الخميس 10 شعبان 1436هـ الموافق 28 مايو 2015م، والرسالة مشرفها الرئيسي الأستاذ الدكتور عبدالله الضويان بقسم الفيزياء والفلك وأحد الباحثين المتعاونين مع معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو، ومشرفها المشارك الدكتور محمد عبدالمجيد خان أحد الباحثين الرئيسين بالمعهد

معهد الملك عبد الله للنانو يستقبل 20 ضابطاً من القوات البرية
بمناسبة اختتام دورتهم التدريبية في الجامعة استقبل معهد الملك عبد الله لتقنية النانو برئاسة الدكتور أوس الشمسان عميد المعهد، في يوم الأربعاء 2 شعبان 1436هـ الموافق 20 مايو 2015م، 20 ضابطاً من ضباط القوات البرية الذين يدرسون في مركز القيادات التربوية بكلية التربية بالجامعة، هدفت الزيارة اطلاع ضباط القوات البرية على المبادرات الريادية للجامعة، ونشر الوعي العلمي بعلوم النانو وتقنياته، والتعرف على تقنية النانو وأهميتها ومجالات العمل بها. وقد تضمن برنامج الاستقبال زيارة مختبرات النانو، حيث قدم الدكتور عبدالعزيز الهزاع وكيل المعهد للشئون الفنية، والدكتور أحمد التوني الأستاذ المشارك بالمعهد شرح عن آلية العمل في المختبرات النانوية، وأنشطة المعهد ومجالات اهتمامه، ودوره الساعي للمساهمة في بناء مجتمع المعرفة.

KAIN Receives Graduate Female Students Delegation
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) welcomed a delegation from the Scientific Club of Graduate Female Students at King Saud University, headed by Ms. Mona Abdullah ibn Salamah, Deputy Head of Scientific Club.
The visit aimed to present nanotechnology field and working areas to the visiting students, and the role of KAIN in popularizing the scientific awareness about nanosciences and nanotechnology, in order to encourage students in nanotechnology scientific research.  
In addition to visit, KAIN Dean Aws Al-Shamsan explained that this comes as a prelude to the establishment of KAIN Nano Club. It also supports the achievement of the second strategic objective of the strategic plan for KAIN, which states on the deployment of scientific awareness about nanotechnology on the social and educational level.  
Moreover, Dr. Al-Shamsan revealed that KAIN is stepping succeeding steps to outreach different internal and external atmospheres, where a number of communication channels have been recently activated in order to support the achievement of the KAIN objectives  and the tasks entrusted to it.

KAIN and SET Center Holds First Joint Workshop
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN), headed by Dr. Aws I. Alshamsan, and the Sustainable Energy Technologies (SET) center, headed by Dr. Mamdooh bin Saud bin Thunayyan Al-Saud organized the first joint workshop on Tuesday April 28 ,2015.
The workshop comes in the framework of bilateral cooperation between KAIN and SET in many quality research projects. The workshop aimed to discuss recent research developments in energy and water areas, where the latest research activities were presented by professors and researchers in both KAIN and SET.
Further, the workshop discussed possibilities of joint research collaboration in current working projects as well as future opportunities for new potential missions. The workshop was attended by researchers and specialists in KAIN, SET, College of Engineering and College of Science.

KSU Nanotechnology Institute Welcomes Taif University Students
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) welcomed a delegation of 19 students from the Science Club in Taif University, headed by Sultan Alsufyani, supervisor of the club.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce the visiting students to the nanotechnology field, its nationwide significance and working areas, and the role of KAIN in the establishment of a knowledge core in this important field.
Moreover, the visit program included a tour in KAIN laboratories along with a session of open discussion about different nanotechnology applications and the importance of nanotechnology to some vital areas in the kingdom.
On this occasion KAIN Dean Aws I. Alshamsan explained that this visit activity is coherent with the efforts carried out by the institute to support social communication and partnership in order to popularize the scientific awareness of nanotechnology in our society. At the end of the visit, the club offered a memorial shield to KAIN.

Research collaboration Between King Saud University and British Council
Under the patronage of the Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Ahmed Al-Aameri, King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) recently held a workshop on "Nanotechnology and Its Applications", with the participation of  five British universities.
Further, the workshop intended to search for possibilities of joint research collaboration between KSU and the British universities and for a long-range establishment of research partnership.
The workshop, which was organized under the chairmanship of KAIN Dean Aws Al-Shamsan and with the participation of Mazyad Al-Terkawi, Supervisor of International Cooperation and Global Scientific and Management Twinning at KSU, included presentation of recent research activities in energy, water and biomedical applications carried out in KAIN and in the British universities.
In addition, the presentations were delivered by speakers from both parties, followed by round table discussions between the participating researchers. The workshop was attended by many researchers and nanotechnology specialists from KAIN, KSU and the British universities, and by many other interested scientists and graduate students. It is worth mentioning that the workshop "Nanotechnology and Its Applications" is a fruit of joint research collaboration between King Saud University and the British Council.

جامعة مانشستر تبحث أوجه التعاون مع معهد الملك عبد الله للنانو
استقبل معهد الملك عبد الله لتقنية النانو برئاسة الدكتور أوس الشمسان وبمعاونة الدكتور مشهور التركاوي المشرف على إدارة التعاون الدولي والتوأمة العلمية العالمية بالجامعة، وفد جامعة مانشستر بالمملكة المتحدة، وذلك في يوم الثلاثاء 25 جمادى الآخرة 1436هـ الموافق 14 أبريل 2015م. هدف الاجتماع بحث أوجه التعاون البحثي المشترك بين معهد الملك عبد الله لتقنية النانو وجامعة مانشستر خاصة في مجال نقل التقنية، وإنشاء شراكة بحثية، وبناء مجتمع المعرفة. تضمن الاجتماع التعريف بقدرات معهد الملك عبد الله لتقنية النانو ومجالات الاهتمام، وأهم الإنجازات التي تمت خلال الفترة الماضية، اضافة إلى الأهداف الاستراتيجية للمعهد، ورؤيته ورسالته، كما بحث الاجتماع آليات دعم المعهد لتحقيق مزيداً من الانجازات لتحقيق مساهمة بناءة في بناء مجتمع المعرفة.
حضر الاجتماع الباحثون الرئيسيون بالمعهد والباحثون المتعاونون بالجامعة.

زيارة الاستاذ الدكتور ياسكو ياماوتشي بالمعهد الوطني لعلوم المواد باليابان لمعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو
قام الاستاذ الدكتور ياسكو ياماوتشي بالمعهد الوطني لعلوم المواد باليابان، بزيارة لمعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو، وذلك في يوم الأربعاء 27 جمادى الأولى 1436هـ الموافق 18 مارس 2015م، وقد كان في صحبته الأستاذ الدكتور سعد بن محمد الشهرى أستاذ الكيمياء غير العضوية، والدكتور تنسير أحمد، بقسم الكيمياء بكلية العلوم

IREG Observatory Delegation at KSU Nanotechnology Institute
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) recently received Professor Jan Sadlak, President of the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence (IREG Observatory) and Robert Morse, Director of Data Research for US News & World Report magazine, responsible for the magazine annual ranking of US colleges and schools, and the founding and executive committee member of IREG Observatory.
Further, the visit program included a tour in KAIN laboratories, and the observation of some scientific experiments designed by KAIN for students and for the scientific popularization of nanotechnology in the society.
The visitors were introduced to the laboratory of Electron Microscopy, where the working principles of scanning and transmission electron microscopes were briefly presented. The visitors also witnessed a simple experiment showing the response of iron oxide nanospheres, produced in KAIN laboratories, to a magnetic field, and the medical applications of this experiment were also presented. They also visited the Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) laboratory, and were introduced to its applications in petroleum and renewable energy fields.
Moreover, the visitors expressed their appreciation and impression for the visit program, and hoped every success for KAIN and its staff. The delegation was received by Dr. Abdulaziz Alhazaa, Deputy Dean for Technical Affairs. The KAIN Dean Aws Alshamsan, explained that institute is keen to benefit from such global expertise, and that these visits contribute to the development of scientific and administrative environment that will ultimately support the value of scientific research, and that leads to achieving the objectives of the Strategic Plan of KAIN and KSU.

King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology Welcomes Professor Ulf Kleineberg
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology (KAIN) recently hosted Professor Ulf Kleineberg, from the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Germany, through ‘Visiting Professor Program’, where he presented two scientific lectures, and carried out several scientific meetings.  In the first lecture, entitled "Ultrafast plasmonic devices for light electronics",
In the first lecture, entitled "Ultrafast plasmonic devices for light electronics", Professor Kleineberg discussed the working principles of plasmonic devices, and the ongoing development research in this field.  He also addressed the existing research project between the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics and KAIN to develop different plasmonic devices with targeted applications.
Further, Professor Kleineberg explained the main physical and theoretical concepts underlying the production of attosecond pulses, the main challenges facing the development of attosecond pulses in the soft x-ray range, and the recent research achievements in this field in his second lecture on "Attosecond soft X-ray optics",
Moreover, several scientific meetings were held during this visit, where Professor Kleineberg discussed many ongoing and prospective research issues with his collaborators from KAIN and College of Science, including the NPST joint research project, where Dr. Hassan Ouacha, Assistant Professor in KAIN, is the principal investigator of the project and Professor Kleineberg, Dr. Abdullah Azzeer, Dr. Hamad Albrithen and Dr. Ziad Al-Ahmad from Department of Physics and Astronomy, College of Science as co-investigators.
It is worth mentioning that the visit of Professor Kleineberg is one of the fruits of research collaboration between King Saud University, Ludwig-Maximilians University and the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics, through which KAIN pursues for the establishment of firm research partnership and technology transfer.

KAIN Offers a Training Course to Microbiology Students
King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology made a training course for students from the Department of Botany and Microbiology, College of Science, KSU, entitled "Nanotechnology applications in the field of microbiology", as part of a series of training courses offered by KAIN for outstanding students in microbiology program.
Further, the training course included a lecture on the various physical and chemical methods for the preparation of nanomaterials, methods of characterization, and applications of nanotechnology in the field of microbiology. The training course included a practical training on chemical preparation of nanomaterials, separation methods, and hands-on practice on characterization of surface area, particle size and thermal properties. It also included a practical training on using scanning and transmission electron microscopes for the characterization of nanomaterials.
Moreover, the training course was delivered by Dr. Ahmed El-Toni, Dr. Aslam Khan, and Dr. Joselito Labis, and students were accompanied with Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim from the department of botany and microbiology, College of Science.
It is worth mentioning that King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology offers such training courses in an effort to raise the scientific level of university students, and in order to spread scientific awareness about nanotechnology.

King Saud University Innovators Honored by Almarai
The supreme council of ‘Almarai Award of Scientific Innovation’ honored to King Saud University’s five leading researchers in its fourteenth session.
Ahmed Mohamed El-Toni, Dr. Joselito Puzon Labis, Dr. Mohamed A. Habila, Dr. Mohamed Abbas Ibrahim, Dr. Zeid A. ALOthman received their awards at a glittering ceremony organized by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) recently in Riyadh.
The researchers from KSU got ‘Almarai Award of Scientific Innovation’ award for this research: “Simple and facile synthesis of amino functionalized hollow core–mesoporous shell silica spheres using anionic surfactant for Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) adsorption and recovery”.
Above mentioned research has been published in ‘Chemical Engineering Journal’s September 2014 issue.
Researchers at KSU: Ahmed Mohamed El-Toni and Dr. Joselito Puzon Labis are working in King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology, Mohamed A. Habila and Zeid A. ALOthman working in Advanced Materials Research Chair in Department of Chemistry, Mohamed Abbas Ibrahim working for Kayyali Chair for Pharmaceutical Industries in Department of Pharmaceutics.
The Almarai Prize for Scientific Innovation is a national award, given only to meritorious people for their highly original work. This award is supervised and administered by KACST with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Almarai recognizes the importance of participating in national development efforts by supporting scientific and research societies. With this in mind, Almarai adopted the Almarai Prize for Scientific Innovation since 1999.
It is worth mentioning KSU has shared this award with Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) for "Development of coating with enhanced properties by using car tires’ rubber" research.

بدعم من برنامج أستاذ زائر بوكالة الجامعة للدراسات العليا والبحث العلمي، نظم معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو محاضرة علمية للدكتور هيروشي نيشيكاوا، معهد بحوث الوصل واللحام (JWRI)، جامعة أوساكا، اليابان، وذلك في يوم الأثنين 11 جمادى الأولى 1436هـ الموافق 2 مارس 2015م، وبحضور الدكتور أوس بن إبراهيم الشمسان عميد المعهد والدكتور عبدالعزيز بن ناصر الهزاع وكيل المعهد للشؤون الفنية ولفيف من الأساتذة والباحثين بالمعهد والجامعة وجهات خارج الجامعة مثل مدينة الملك العزيز للعلوم والتقنية، وقد كانت محاضرة الدكتور هيروشي بعنوان:
"New joining technology using nanomaterials for high temperature application"
حيث تطرق فيها إلى شرح كيفية استخدام تقنية النانو والمعادن ذاتية المسامية في عملية اللحام ووصل التراكيب المعدنية المختلفة، مما يتيح للحاضرين التعرف على مجالات وتطبيقات جديدة في علوم تقنية النانو ويؤدي إلى أعمال تطبيقية في مجالات التصنيع.
ويذكر أن مثل هذه المحاضرات العلمية تهدف إلى فتح آفاق وتوجهات بحثية جديدة للمعهد ويسهم في إنشاء شراكة وتعاون بحثي جديد، وبالتالي يؤدي إلى تحقيق أهداف الخطة الاستراتيجية للمعهد والجامعة وإلى إنشاء مجتمع المعرفة.
ثم قام سعادة الدكتور هيروشي بعمل جولة لمختبرات تقنيات النانو والغرفة النقية بالمعهد، حيث تولى د. عبدالعزيز الهزاع مهمة تعريفه بالأبحاث القائمة وكيفية تحضير عينات النانو كيميائياً وبطرق الترسيب بالليزر النبضي والكشف عن خواص المواد المتعددة بطرق مختلفة، وكذلك تم بحث أوجه التعاون المشترك بين المعهد والدكتور هيروشي للاستفادة منها في مجالات البحث العلمي، وقد أبدى سعادته إعجابه لما رأه من جهود وإنجازات بحثية، كما تمنى كل التوفيق والنجاح للمعهد.

د. خالد باتو متحدث رئيسي في المؤتمر الدولي الثاني لعلوم وتقنية النانو بجامعة جنوب الوادي بمصر
شارك د. خالد مجسم باتو الأستاذ المساعد بمعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو كمتحدث رئيسي في المؤتمر الدولي الثاني لعلوم وتقنية النانو (ICNA - II - 2015) بجامعة جنوب الوادي والذي انعقد في الفترة من 4 - 7 جمادى الأولى 1436هـ الموافق 23 – 26 فبراير 2015م بمدينتي قنا – الأقصر بجمهورية مصر العربية، وقد شارك د. خالد بعرض بعنوان
"Spin-dependent tunneling in magnetic tunnel junctions embedded in an MgO matrix"
 وإدارة المعهد تتمنى لسعادته خالص التوفيق والنجاح.

الدكتور عمران سليم، كلية الصيدلة والعلوم البيولوجية الجزيئية، جامعة ليفربول جون موريز، المملكة المتحدة، يلقي محاضرة بمعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو
ضمن برنامج أستاذ زائر، استضاف معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو الدكتور عمران سليم، كلية الصيدلة والعلوم البيولوجية الجزيئية، جامعة ليفربول جون موريز، المملكة المتحدة، وذلك في يوم الخميس 7 جمادى الأولى 1436هـ الموافق 26 فبراير 2015م، حيث كان في استقباله الدكتور عبدالعزيز بن ناصر الهزاع وكيل المعهد للشؤون الفنية، وقد ألقى الدكتور عمران محاضرة بالمعهد بعنوان:
" Pulmonary Delivery of a Polymer-Based Nanocomposite-Microparticle Pneumococcal Vaccine"
وقد حضرها لفيف من الأساتذة والباحثين بالمعهد والجامعة، ثم قام سعادته بعمل جولة لمختبرات تقنيات النانو والغرفة النقية بالمعهد حيث اطلع على الأبحاث القائمة وكيفية تحضير عينات النانو كيميائياً وبطرق الترسيب بالليزر النبضي والكشف عن خواص المواد المتعددة بطرق مختلفة، وقد أبدى سعادته إعجابه لما رأه من جهود وإنجازات بحثية، كما تمنى كل التوفيق والنجاح للمعهد.

KACST Head Prince Turki visits the KAIN
HRH Prince Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed Al Saud visited the King Abdullah Institute of Nanotechnology (KAIN), KSU on February 9, 2015. Prince Turki was welcomed by the KSU Rector Badran Al-Omar and Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Ahmed Al-Aameri. This was the first visit of Prince Turki after his appointment as head of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) to KSU.
At KAIN, HRH Prince Turki bin Saud with KSU dignitaries has been received by Dean  Aws I. Alshamsan  with Attoseconds Laboratory’ supervisor Abdullah M. Al-Zeer.
Dr. Alshamsan made a complete presentation in Institute’s conference hall about the activities of KAIN and achievements. After Dr. Al-Shamsan’s speech, HRH Prince Turki bin Saud and his escorts visited the laboratories of the Institute, starting with the Membranes Lab, which applies nanotechnology in water distillation.
Further, HRH Prince Turki bin Saud with KSU Rector Al-Omar and Vice Rector Al-Aameri inspected the polymer membranes and the carbon nanotubes that have been produced by the Institute. They also listened to an explanation of their preparation process and their quality test from Dr. Mansour Al-Hushan.
Moreover, HRH Prince Turki headed towards the Electron Microscopes Labs, where he was briefed about how the scanning electron microscope and the transmission electron microscope. His Highness also witnessed a scientific experiment showing the responsiveness of nano-structured iron oxides (which are produced by the Institutes for the magnetic field) and was informed about their expected medical uses.
HRH Prince Turki also examined the Pulsed Laser Deposition machine, here Dr. Hamed Al-Braithen stepped up to explain the machine and introduce its applications in the field of petroleum and renewable energy.
In addition, HRH Prince Turki with his delegation toured to Attoseconds Lab, which is the symbolic fruit of cooperation between the KSU, the University of Munich and the Max Planck Institute in Germany under the supervision of Professor Abdullah M. Al-Zeer.
It is worth noting that HRH Prince Turki has expressed his appreciation for the research efforts that have exerted and the various results that have been achieved by the Institute in the short period of time it had to work. He also stressed the need to market the Institute and its products to the local, as well as the international, agencies that stand to benefit from it. He also reaffirmed the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology’s commitment to supporting the KSU and the Institute in their work. He later wished everyone success in their attempts to develop the very important field of nanotechnology for our precious kingdom.

معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو يشارك في تدريب متدربي القطاعات العسكرية
  أقام مركز التدريب وخدمة المجتمع بجامعة الملك سعود بالتعاون مع الوحدة البيولوجية باللجنة الدائمة للوقاية من التلوث الكيميائي والبيولوجي بالجامعة، وقسم النبات والأحياء الدقيقة بكلية العلوم بالجامعة، ومعهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو، دورة تدريبية لمتدربي القطاعات العسكرية بعنوان "الحروب النانوية الجرثومية المعاصرة – الوعي وطرق الوقاية"، وذلك في الفترة من 6– 9 ربيع الثاني 1436هـ الموافق 26 – 29 يناير 2015م، وقد قام   د. أحمد التوني الأستاذ مساعد بالمعهد بإلقاء محاضرة عن الطرق الفيزيائية والكيميائية المختلفة لتحضير المواد النانوية وطرق توصيفها، كما قام ايضا باعطاء تدريب عملي علي تحضير تلك المواد و طرق فصلها وتوصيفها بواسطة أجهزة قياس مساحة السطح وحجم الحبيبات واجهزة قياس الخواص الحرارية. و قد شارك ايضا كلا من   د. أسلم خان ود. جوسيليتو بازن لابس، الأستاذين المساعدين بالمعهد بتقديم شرح نظري وتدريب عملي علي كيفية استخدام كلا من الميكروسكوب الالكتروني الماسح والميكروسكوب الالكتروني النفاذ في توصيف المواد النانوية.

معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو يستضيف البروفيسور ديبابراتا موخوبادهياي، مايو كلينيك، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية
  ضمن برنامج أستاذ زائر، استضاف معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو البروفيسور ديبابراتا موخوبادهياي الأستاذ في قسم الكيمياء الحيوية والبيولوجيا الجزيئية والهندسة الطبية الحيوية بمركز مايوكلينيك للطب النانوي، روشيستر، جاكسونفيل، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وذلك في الفترة من 18 – 21 ربيع الأول 1436هـ الموافق 9 – 12 يناير 2015م، وكان في استقباله سعاة عميد المعهد د. أوس بن إبراهيم الشمسان عميد المعهد ولفيف من الأساتذة والباحثين بالمعهد والجامعة. وقد ألقى البروفيسور ديبابراتا محاضرة في المعهد بعنوان:
"Mayo Clinic Center for translational Nanomedicine: goals, partnerships and deliverables "
ناقش خلالها دور تقنية النانو في علاج الأمراض المستعصية واستعرض خطة مايوكلينيك الاستراتيجية في تقنية النانو الطبية، وقد تم الاتفاق مع سعادة عميد المعهد لجعل معهد الملك عبدالله لتقنية النانو شريكا استراتيجيا لجامعة مايوكلينك في مجال طب النانو، ثم اجتمع سعادته وسعادة عميد المعهد بالأساتذة والباحثين بالمعهد والجامعة ومدينة الملك عبدالعزيز للعلوم والتقنية لمناقشة أوجه التعاون المشترك.
