Rules and Regulations - Inside cleanroom

MAIN MENU

4-    Inside cleanroom
The cleanroom is a research environment and should be treated as such. We should work and perform tasks in a way that can limit contamination and avoid health and safety issues within the cleanroom. Please respect and maintain a professional attitude within the cleanroom areas.
Improper activities by a cleanroom user generate millions of particles. Therefore, it is imperative to adhere to the following rules:
     •    Do not smoke immediately before entering the cleanroom.
     •    Hair must not be combed in the garmenting area.
     •    Do not wear make up in the cleanroom.
     •    Do not bring unnecessary things into the cleanroom.
     •    Wash your hands before and after you have been in the cleanroom.
     •    Do not open your cleanroom coverall for ANY reason.
     •    Do not remove your facemask.
     •    Do not remove or adjust overshoes.
     •    If there is a problem with these last 3 points, leave the cleanroom immediately and solve the problem in the garmenting room.
     •    Work with calm and slow movements.
     •    Mobile phone should be set on silent mode.
     •    If needed, cleanroom users can go into the garmenting area and use their mobile phone, and must afterwards put on new gloves.
     •    Limit talking and actions in the cleanroom to only those required for the work being processed.
     •    Speak as little as possible and never speak over your or others wafers and samples.
     •    Avoiding coughing, sneezing and talking when using sensitive and clean materials.
     •   Face masks are provided and should be worn at all times in the cleanroom. They are specifically designed to limit particulate matter and moisture from breathing. The masks are NOT chemical resistant, only particulate.
     •    While working in the cleanroom, avoid mannerisms such as rubbing hands or scratching head.
     •    Do not touch your face or skin with your gloves
     •    Do not use facial tissues in the cleanroom. Use a cleanroom compatible tissue and dispose it appropriately in waste receptacle.
     •    Running and other non-professional activities are not permitted.
     •    All cleanroom doors must remain closed when not entering or exiting.
     •    Open and close the doors slowly and do not open two adjoining doors at the same time.
     •    Only cleanroom compatible ball-point pens and papers are allowed inside the cleanroom for recording data.
     •    If needed, personal papers/sheets must be laminated before you bring them into the cleanroom.
     •    Nothing is allowed inside the cleanroom which is not required in the cleanroom process.
     •    Food and drinks in any form are not allowed inside the cleanroom.
     •    You are not allowed to chew chewing gum in the cleanroom.
     •    Throw waste glass and Si-wafers out in the appropriate waste container.
     •    When used, all tools must be cleaned, rinsed and dried before placing into storage cabinet.
     •    Take care to keep hotplates away from solvents and chemical bottles. Solvents have generally low flash points and will burst into flames if the temperature is too hot.
     •    If you are doing sticky processes, you should use the hotplate covered in foil to prevent cross contamination between experiments.
     •    Remember that the cleanroom is not a storeroom. Please, remove your wafers from the cleanroom if you have finished your work.
     •    Keep the working place clean and remember to wipe up waste of water.
     •    Keep order of all things.
     •    Computers provided in the cleanroom are for research purposes and not general use. Please refrain from using the terminals to surf the internet and check mail. If you have time to do this then you should not be in the cleanroom.
