| Biography Professor Maqusood Ahamed is working as a group lead at the Nanomedicine and Nanotoxicology Lab of the King Abdullah Institute for Nanotechnology, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Professor Ahamed is investigating the application of nanostructured materials in biomedical fields, such as cancer therapy and antimicrobial activity, while assessing their potential risks and toxicological effects on human and environmental health. This interdisciplinary field aims to integrate the benefits of nanotechnology with safety considerations, ensuring that advancements improve healthcare outcomes while upholding safety standards. Professor Ahamed has published more than 200 research papers of international repute. He was awarded Best Research Quality from King Saud University (KSU Research Excellence Award) in 2017 (the award was conferred by the Governor of Riyadh). Professor Ahamed was also listed in Highly Cited Researcher for 2017 and 2018 by Clarivate Analytics (Web of Science). Besides, he has been listed in the top 2% of scientists on the global list (in both categories: career and single year) for 2020, 2021, 2022, & 2024, compiled by Stanford University, USA.
